any thoughts??

I started doing the p90x and really love the workouts, but have been struggling with slipping off the mat from sweat, I have all tile floors and when I slip off the mat and hit those I really slip. ( i am afraid to injure myself)

anyway, wanted to see what kind of options you all could help me come up with.. should i buy a large rug to work out on? will that help or will I continue to slip on that as well? do yoga with shoes on?

Hi Nathan!  Nice to see you!

I do have a suggestion and just so you know, DH teases me terribly about it.  I have the same problem with P90x DVDs as we have hardwood.

I have the rubberized drawer liners - they come in a big roll and you cut to fit.  I bought mine at Walmart.  I unroll two of those rolls and I work out on that.  It sticks to the floor AND enough to me that I don't slip.  Then I just roll it all back up again like a yoga mat.   If only they would sell it in wider and longer rolls.  The ones I use are ~18" so I use two.

thanks Heidi..

I was thinking about buying a rug runner to use, but wasn't sure if I would just slip on the carpet too. Really don't want to wear shoes while doing yoga either, but I might not have an option..

I have a Home Depot carpet remnant over my concrete floor. Cheap and effective.

Long distance runner, what you standin' there for?

I have one of the big heavy rubber mats that you would use use for excercise equipment, works great on the hardwood and solid floors but walks like crazy on my wool rugs. Just roll it out and back up when I'm done.

They sell the rubber rug grips that goes under a throw rug that looks much like what Heidi described for the drawers, not sure it has the same grip as the drawer liners...u can get it in a bigger size instead of using two rolls. I have both but never dawned on me to use it for workouts...thanks!
